Oppenheimer Programme in African Landscape Systems (OPALS)
Within OPALS, we embrace the Theory of Change approach to designing and articulating intended impacts and the necessary outcomes, outputs, activities, and inputs required to achieve these impacts.
Are the overarching programme level, we share a common theory of change co-developed with the Future Ecosystem for Africa project, to facilitate alignment between OPALS and FEFA.
At the individual project level, we are supporting each OPALS scholar to develop their own theory of change, aligned with the programme level but tailored to their own specific work.
We believe that this approach of embedding the impact agenda into the core of each project helps to foster ownership of the activities by our scholars, empowering them to drive forward their own ‘student-led’ projects while developing awareness of the wider context around their work.
